Tour Description

Morning after Breakfast, pick-up from your hotel to Mtende Village. We will stop near the Baobab tree in the center of the village and go on foot to the ocean shore. The road is about two kilometers, will pass through the village, you will see the life of the locals, Then the road goes through the bush will meet a lot of very large baobabs. When you go out to the coast you will be able to observe the amazing view of the beach with coral rocks. During low tide, you can go down the stairs to the beach and explore it. At high tide, you can take a boat and swim along the coast.

Mtende is a village located in the south of Zanzibar, It almost takes one hour and a half drive from Stone Town City, this village has various attractions such as caves, huge baobab trees, amazing rock beach which surrounded by the rocks, the palm tree which has two branches and dolphins. The main activities in Mtende village are agriculture, fishing, tourism etc. People of this village live in unit, friendly and solidarity, plan together for community developments, most of clients visit there and enjoy their tours.

The Baobab tree at Mtende Village has various uses:

- Its bark is used as natural medicine.
- Its fruits can be used to make juice.
- Baobab bark is used to make a rope, baskets, clothes and local hats.
- It produces edible fruits known as “Monkey Bread” as baboons love it
